2. How long does it take to get to Hawaii?
Hawaii is located 5 hours and 45 minutes from Los Angeles (LAX) and 8 hours and 30 minutes from Chicago (ORD) and Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) based on direct flight times.

3. How far is The Royal Hawaiian from the Honolulu Airport?
Dependent on traffic, Honolulu International Airport is approximately 45 minutes from The Royal Hawaiian, A Luxury Collection Resort.

4. Is The Royal Hawaiian located on the beach?
Yes, the resort is located directly on Waikiki Beach with many of the rooms directly facing the sparkling Pacific ocean. The resort also has a private beach area exclusive to guests.

5. What are the directions from the airport?
From the airport, take H1 freeway to Nimitz Highway. Follow Nimitz Highway, which will turn into Ala Moana Boulevard. Make a right onto Kalakaua Avenue (1 mile past Ala Moana Mall). Turn right on Royal Hawaiian Avenue (less than a mile down Kalakaua Avenue). The 'Pink Palace' will be alongside The Sheraton Waikiki and bell staff will be waiting to assist you.

6. How do I arrange transportation to and from the airport?
We can assist in arranging transportation in advance of your arrival. Your may confirm with our Royal Hawaiian signature concierge by calling 808.931.7595 between the hours of 7:00am and 11:00pm daily.

7. How much does it cost to get to and from the airport by taxi or shuttle?
A taxi will cost approximately $30 (one-way), a shuttle $15 per person each way or $28 roundtriop to and from Waikiki. Additional charges may apply for baggage.

8.  What is the cost of daily parking?
Valet parking for one vehicle is included in the Resort Charge. Without the Resort Charge, standard self-parking is $25 per vehicle per day and $33 for valet per day with a parking pass which is issued at our front desk.

9. Does the resort have a spa or fitness center?
Yes, The Royal Hawaiian offers a full spa with both indoor and outdoor treatment rooms as well as a Fitness Studio. The Abhasa Spa is located on the lower lobby in the main building. Extensive services and unique treatments allow you to escape into a world of complete relaxation...even if just for the day. The Fitness Studio is alongside the Catering Department in the ground level hallway that leads to Abhasa Spa.

10. Do you have a jacuzzi?
Yes, both our pools have Jacuzzis adjacent to them and we also have select suites with tub jets. Abhasa Spa also offers body treatments using special vishy equipment, as well as a tranquil jacuzzi within the Spa area.

11. How many bars do you have?
The world famous Mai Tai Bar is our main bar located oceanfront on Waikiki Beach. Hours of operation are 10:00am to 12:00am daily. You can also enjoy specialty drinks and wine at Azure Restaurant, Surf Lanai Restaurant and throughout the day around our Royal Beach Tower pool, or arrange to have alcoholic beverages delivered to your room by our In-Room Dining staff.

12. Is there a doctor's office nearby?
Our sister hotel, The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani has a full medical facility and is about a 10 minute walk from the resort.

13. Do you have an ATM on property?
Yes, located in the lobby by the main entrance. Several banking services are also available within walking distance of the resort.

14. Is there Hawaiian entertainment on property?
Yes, daily at the Mai Tai Bar you can enjoy the music of local musicians and hula dancers, which often accompany the groups known throughout the world today. Entertainment starts at 6:30pm and continues until 10:00pm. The Royal Hawaiian Aha 'Aina Luau, held every Monday night on the Ocean Lawn, features the very best of Hawaiian entertainment and a enchanting journey through history.

15. Where can I exchange money?
Services for currency exchange are available at the resort front desk and at local financial institutions located within walking distance from the resort. Please note that service charges may apply.

16. Does your resort have multi-lingual staff?

Yes, The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort's staff include many multi-lingual employees. We pride ourselves of being of gold standard service and if you have any particular need, please let us know.

17. Do you have a hospitality room?
Yes. Should you be arriving early or need to refresh following checkout, this hospitality area is available at no cost to Royal Hawaiian guests. All luggage will need to be stored as there are no locker facilities in this area. See the bell-desk staff for access.

18. Which restaurants offer an ocean view?
We recommend the Surf Lanai for breakfast and lunch, the Mai Tai Bar for cocktails and snacks, and Azure Restaurant for dinner, all of which offer spectacular views of Diamond Head and the jewel-toned Pacific. In addition, our "stay at one dine at all" offer allows our guests to enjoy the restaurants at our sister properties with room signing authority. Rumfire and Kai Market at The Sheraton Waikiki, and The Beachhouse at The Moana Surfrider, all offer excellent, beachfront dining as well.

19. What time is sunset?
It varies according to the season. Because Hawaii does not participate in "Daylight Savings Time" the latest sunset in Summer is usually around 7:15pm with the sun setting at around 6:00pm in the shorter winter evenings. To see the exact time based on available charts, please click here.

20. Where is the best luau?

Our suggestion is Aha 'Aina, A Royal Celebration held every Monday evening on the Ocean Lawn of The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort. It is the only oceanfront luau in Waikiki and offers a gourmet sit-down dinner, open bar and phenomenal entertainment. Reservations are recommended. Show dates are subject to change without notice.

21. What is the recipe for the Royal Hawaiian's world famous "Mai Tai"?
There are two versions of this popular beverage, which of course is best enjoyed overlooking Waikiki Beach from our famous Mai Tai Bar. The two versions are the "traditional" and unique "Pink Mai Tai."
